A chandelier is a ceiling-mounted light fixture with two or more arms bearing lights. Modern chandeliers are often very ornate, containing dozens of lamps. They also contain complex arrays of glass shapes to illuminate the room in many intricate patterns. Typically chandeliers are usually much heavier than other ceiling light fixtures, and may require special attachments to the ceiling and specially reinforced ceilings.
