Seeing double

Companies today rely on digital libraries to get stock images for their print and online campaigns. I have noticed this on a few sites, and while it makes sense, it does seem odd that they would be able to know how often and where an image may appear. Such an occurrence happened to competing banks. Bank of America and Citiigroup both were running ads about their refinance and mortgage division.

The cost of obtaining exclusive images can be quite expensive, considering the cost of location and people can add up to over $10K. This is why more and more companies are relying on these digital libraries where the stock images can be had for as little as a $1With approx. billions of websites online, there is certainly a lot of duplication.
