Advertising Change

With online advertising spend projected to top $15 billion this year, advertisers are looking for new and creative ways to market and brand their services. Have you noticed on some sites that words are now being double underlined? While most of know that words that are linked to a particular site are underlined, those that are double underlined are typically ads. With “in text” advertising companies can now have their keywords linked directly yo the text in an article or news reports, instead of in a banner or contextual ad box.

There are a handful of companies that offer this type of service to both advertisers and publishers. For those who have blogs or web sites where you would like to monetize that content it is as simple as placing some code at the bottom of the page, and the rest is taken care of. We have experimented with a few and I find it interesting to see which words it will link to and what ads are displayed
