It has been the trend lately that fiber optic cables have been replacing copper wires as a means of communication signal transmission. Local phone systems, network systems, cable television services, university campuses, office buildings, industrial plants, and electric utility companies are all users of the fiber optic cables. Fiber optic cables is similar to copper wire systems. The fiber uses light pulses to transmit information instead of electronic pulses that the copper wire uses.
